Hi Jonas, congratulations on your new role as a Business Development Manager in Germany! When did you start your position?
I relocated to the Bufab offices in Mörfelden-Walldorf, just outside Frankfurt, in August and started my new role in early September.
How did this new career opportunity come about?
I have always wanted to work abroad. This opportunity arose as we have a large network within BUMAX/Bufab and good internal career opportunities. It’s great being part of an organization that promotes the career progression of its employees.
What does your new role at BUMAX involve?
I’m responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities in strategic markets. We have a strategic focus on providing our customers with more sustainable long-term solutions. My role is to act as a key interface between the market and our internal teams – to ensure that customer needs are translated into actionable commercial and technical solutions.
What do you like about your new role?
With my background in BUMAX quality and production, I’m finding it extremely interesting to get close to our customers and see our unique products solving real-world engineering problems. I am looking forward to receiving direct customer feedback and being constantly challenged to develop new solutions with the goal of building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Tell us about the BUMAX capabilities serving the German market.
The German economy is the largest in Europe and includes world-leading industries with critical applications, which is a perfect fit for our high-strength stainless steel fastener solutions. We have served the German market for many years, and our goal is to further develop our capabilities and serve even more customers on a high level.
How does the German fastener market look – what do you see as the greatest opportunities?
BUMAX is already well known in many market segments in Germany, and we have proven to be a reliable partner for many years. However, we still see good opportunities for growth in several segments, such as the semiconductor segment and the growing space industry.
Tell us about relocating to Germany – what has it meant for you both personally and professionally?
It’s been a big step in many respects and obviously a great opportunity to challenge myself and grow both on a personal and professional level. It’s been tough to move away from family, friends and such great colleagues in Sweden. However, I’m very grateful for everyone at BUMAX/Bufab Germany who has welcomed me with open arms and been very supportive. A special thanks to everyone who has helped me with the various practicalities of relocating to a new country!
