What are your first impressions of BUMAX?
I’m very impressed with BUMAX – both in the niche products we offer and the expertise of our colleagues. BUMAX is good sized global company that is big enough to be an important player while maintaining a very lean and friendly organization. I have certainly received a very warm welcome from the team these past six months.
Tell us about your role.
I’m based at the Bufab Budapest office and am responsible for developing the Eastern European market for BUMAX – including the Baltic states, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, the Balkans and Turkey. Before 2025, BUMAX had a limited presence in Eastern Europe, so my role is about establishing the BUMAX brand in a new geographic region with huge potential. I typically go on a business trip to meet customers every second week.
What do you like about your job?
I have previously worked in niche markets so I enjoy working with BUMAX products that can help customers overcome very particular problems and can outperform conventional solutions. I like meeting people on customer visits, learning about their fastener applications and helping to solve their problems.
Tell us about your career before BUMAX?
I have worked in niche markets with large and mid-size Swedish companies for the past 15 years, with a focus on the Eastern European market. I appreciate the culture of Swedish companies, particularly in the good way they treat their customers and employees, and BUMAX aligns with the Swedish companies I have previously worked with.
What is the best thing about working at BUMAX?
I like that BUMAX is a relatively small global company with premium products that it manufactures itself for niche markets. BUMAX is an exciting company as it is continuing to develop, with new product ranges and geographic expansion. I think our customers appreciate that they have one point of contact at BUMAX and that we have the flexibility to be able to customize our products to fully meet their requirements.
Can you give an example of a recent customer you helped?
I recently helped a manufacturer of a precision gear box that had strength issues with their stainless steel fasteners. BUMAX products instantly provided the level of strength they required, and the customers is now validating that our fasteners fully meet their requirements before incorporating them into their products.
What are your future career aspirations at BUMAX?
I really like my job and would like to continue to establish myself as the BUMAX Business Development Manager for Eastern Europe. I gain new knowledge and inspiration in my role every day and I am looking forward to applying my growing expertise to help more customers in the future.
How does the Eastern European stainless steel fastener market look?
The region has the potential to be a booming market in the coming years for BUMAX with untapped market opportunities and significant projected growth. There are significant opportunities in applications related to space, aerospace, defense, marine and nuclear.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and cycling. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
