You have almost been with BUMAX for a year now, what are your impressions of the company?

BUMAX is driven by a clear focus on quality and innovation, reinforced by a culture of collaboration. As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of premium stainless steel fasteners, we supply specialized products tailored to the needs of key industries and customers. I have been impressed by the level of materials engineering required to manufacture such an ultra-high-strength product.

Tell us about your role.

As a Business Development Manager, I raise awareness of BUMAX and its high-strength stainless steel fasteners. I identify new market opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and work with engineering teams to deliver technical support and tailored fastening solutions for demanding applications.

What do you like about your job?

I love the combination of technical sales and engineering expertise and being able to provide customers with solutions to their technical challenges. I also enjoy working with such a wide variety of different industries – and understanding how our fasteners can benefit everything from satellites and turbochargers to medical applications and bridges.

Tell us about your career before BUMAX?

For five years, I worked as a Technical Sales Engineer with a company delivering critical bolt tightening and tensioning tools in the Middle East. I have a mechanical engineering degree and a background in hydraulics.

What is the best thing about working at BUMAX?

I enjoy the fact that working for BUMAX has an engineering dimension as we have our own manufacturing. It’s great to speak with our mechanical design engineers, quality managers and our production to help solve a particular customer’s problem.

What are your future career aspirations at BUMAX?

At my previous roles, I worked in international sales and established new distributorships and sales footprints in countries from scratch. I would like to do this for BUMAX too and in fact I have already started to establish our presence in the Middle East together with our Regional Sales Manager – ROW, Jacob Bergström.

How does the UK and Ireland stainless steel fastener market look?

There are significant opportunities for BUMAX in the UK and Ireland. The marine, nuclear and defense sectors remain important areas of activity, with ongoing investment and development. In addition, the space industry is growing rapidly, creating further demand for high-performance, reliable components such as advanced fasteners.

What do you like to do in your free time?

My one-year-old son keeps me busy and I of course love spending time with him. I am a huge cricket fan and play for the Watford Town cricket club where I recently won Best Bowler of the Season. I also enjoy reading – typically personal development topics.
