The building and infrastructure sector is increasingly turning to high-performance stainless steel to provide low maintenance, durability and full recyclability – to ultimately reduce lifecycle costs and advance sustainable construction. BUMAX stainless steel fasteners provide a highly reliable, cost-effective solution for these demanding applications.
We offer a broad range of products and can deliver customized stainless steel fasteners according to unique customer requirements. Our fasteners are delivered with full traceability and 3.1 or 3.2 certificates on demand. Non-preloaded assemblies are a manufactured-to-order solution. Pre-loaded structural bolting solutions involve additional project specific testing and evaluation.
The high strength and exceptional corrosion resistance of BUMAX austenitic and duplex stainless steel grades make even the most challenging construction and infrastructure projects possible. These include non-pre-loaded CE Marked structural bolts in accordance with EN 15048.
BUMAX is one of the only manufacturers experienced in stainless steel pre-loaded structural bolting solutions for slip-critical connections. We also offer Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for products in our flagship grades BUMAX® 88 and BUMAX® 109 to help designers achieve transparency on carbon impact.
We can meet your CE marking requirements
The harmonized standards that cover structural fasteners are EN 15048 for non-preloaded applications and EN 14399 for pre-loaded applications.
BUMAX is certified by TÜV NORD according to EN 15048 and BUMAX® 88 products can be supplied as a “structural bolt” with CE marking and hard marked with “SB”. As CE marked structural bolts are not a standard product, due to the additional testing and marking requirements, it is important that CE marking requirements are specified when ordering. Please contact us for lead times.
EN 14399 does not currently apply to stainless steels. However, BUMAX has been involved in the SIROCO EU-funded research project to develop a solution for slip-resistant connections using high strength pre-loaded stainless steel bolts. As a consequence, BUMAX has successfully supported several complex construction project applications, providing technical guidance and manufacturing support to deliver solutions that overcame current design limitations and made the project possible.

Environmental Performance Declarations (EPDs)
BUMAX was one of the first fastener manufacturers in the world to obtain product EPDs. Our EPDs for BUMAX® 88 and BUMAX® 109 help customers to make informed decisions, based on the environmental footprint of our products. The EPDs are part of our Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) perspective from raw materials and transport to manufacturing and end-of-life, and are in accordance with ISO 14025 and ISO 15804.
