What are your first impressions of BUMAX?
BUMAX is a very impressive company with a lot of history and expertise. Our products can overcome key challenges in mission-critical fastener applications that other solutions simply can’t solve. I believe BUMAX will play an increasingly vital role as society adopts more advanced manufacturing and high-tech industries.
Tell us about your role.
As Head of Sales for North America at BUMAX, I coordinate our regional team in close cooperation with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors, as well as our sales operations team in Sweden. I also work closely with our exclusive master distributor in the USA – Star Stainless Screw Company – which is one of the largest distributors of stainless steel fasteners in North America. I have worked a lot with getting the right strategy and processes in place for BUMAX to develop the North American market.
What do you like about your job?
A desire to be involved in mission critical and high-tech manufacturing is what brought me to BUMAX. I like the fact we work with advanced materials in high-strength stainless steel that can solve complex challenges for end users needing alternatives to inadequate traditional solutions. I’m often involved early in the design process to understand the application and real needs of every project.
Tell us about your career before BUMAX?
Before joining BUMAX, I worked as Business Development Manager over three divisions at Component Solutions Group, which was acquired by the parent company of BUMAX – Bufab – in 2021. I first worked with finance and acquisitions when I joined Component Solutions Group in 2008, which helped me understand more about the business behind what we do.
What is the best thing about working at BUMAX?
Nobody makes stainless steel fasteners like BUMAX in North America. So being able to offer truly unique solutions to high-tech and mission-critical end markets where failure is not an option is very rewarding.
Tell us about the North American market for BUMAX.
BUMAX is still a relatively niche product in North America, but we see a huge potential for growth as the latest advancements in stainless materials are starting to be more widely known. We are currently seeing a lot of growth and interest from high-tech manufacturing – such as space exploration with rockets and satellites, and semiconductors. These markets require advanced materials where our high-strength stainless steel can offer great alternatives to exotic materials like Inconel and titanium that can be difficult to produce and very expensive.
Can you give an example of a recent customer you helped?
We recently helped an aerospace manufacturer to switch from standard A4 and A286 fasteners to our high-strength stainless steel solutions. The customer required a low-weight high-strength fastener alternative with certifications.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Golf is my main hobby, but I’ve been enjoying traveling in recent years – for both work and pleasure. I’ve always been interested in history, learning new things and seeing beautiful landscapes. So the combination of golf and traveling the world has allowed me to have some truly unique experiences.
